Brett & Zara at Netherwood

How do you put pure, sweet, genuine love into words? I’m not sure that I have the ability, so in stead I will describe some of my creative wedding planning journey with Zara and Brett in the hope that it will paint something of a picture of these lovely humans.

Za and I have known one another for years. We are both farm kids from a very special farming community called Eston, went to good old Eston Primary School, were raised by an entire community (Eston rocks that way), and landed up in the Midlands as grown ups. When Zara and Brett finally got engaged after dating for SEVEN YEARS, they came to see me at Netherwood for a viewing … the rest is, as they say, history. Planning their wedding with them was the beginning of our re-connection as adults, and it has been a blast! Zara and Brett are two people I just love!

I first knew I was one lucky lady to be a part of this couple’s wedding team on their styled engagement shoot with Jacki Bruniquel, Kym & Me and Floey on Brett’s family farm where they have settled and made their home. This was not a day of work, it was a day of laughter, delight, joy, excitement, deep love, incredible hospitality and celebration! Brett and Zara opened their hearts and home to us, made us feel beyond welcome, and spoiled us post-shoot with the kind of hospitality and generosity I grew up with. It really was like coming home to family. The rest of our journey continued along the same vein, with many a “wedding planning” telephone call extending well past the necessary wedding related discussions because we were in fits of laughter about something or the other. It is a joy to say that Brett and Zara have become incredibly close and special friends throughout our journey.

This was one of those weddings where every single guest was just so happy that two such special people were making this beautiful commitment to one another. It was a genuine celebration of joy and love … and being an Eston wedding in the Midlands, it was one hang of a party too!

An enormous thank you to both Brett and Zara for being just so darn lovely, and to our sensational dream team for being completely professional and lovely to work with:
